EXPRESSION STUDIES
BioMedha offers a range of expression study assay formats to help provide a better understanding of disease biology, associated pathways, and compound efficacy.
Target expression pattern provides valuable insight in target validation, understanding biology, and molecular basis for compound effect, and therapeutic efficacy.
Different approaches measuring target expression
Expression studies can be performed at protein level, mRNA level, secretion level, at surface level, and expression by immunofluorescence.
Gene expression by qPCR (RT-PCR)
Figure-A: CD44, CXCL16, IL-1b and CD123 mRNA amplification in PMBCs, Monocytes, and Neutrophils and gene expression levels normalised to b-Actin housekeeping gene. Each test condition represents data from triplicate wells.
Secretion levels by Luminex multiplexing

Here we demonstrate our expertise in measuring target expression levels and BioMedha can support suitable assay formats tailored to client project needs (e.g. target validation, understanding biology, compound efficacy, mechanism of action studies, and siRNA knockdown studies).
Our expression studies include:
- Gene expression by qPCR
- Total protein levels by Western blotting
- Secretion levels by ELISA / AlphaLisa / HTRF/ Luminex
- Surface expression by flowcytometry
- Expression by immunofluorescence imaging
- Transcription factors activation by hybridisation
- Measuring a compound's effect on a target
- Transfections and transductions
- Gene knockdown studies (siRNA)
- Target validation (In vitro)
- Biomarker levels
- Residual DNA analysis
- Custom assay development and screening
- Sample type: cells, blood, and tissue (e.g. xenograft)
- Species: human, rat, mouse, and canine
